6/11: Hello Everyone.
I'm sorry for not getting more info posted sooner, and keeping things updated weekly. But here is what has transpired in the last month:
We had our first pull of the year at the Steam Engine Grounds on May 17th. Everything ran very smooth for the entire night. I saw many new faces at the pull. We have some new members signed up for points that were not signed up last year. Attendance was down a little - but all things considered - NOT TOO BAD!! We had a total of about 150 hooks. Pulling from the north to the south worked out pretty well with only one sled. The weather held out - and the track actually turned out to be pretty good at the end of the night. Thanks to all who attended and helped make it a success!
Coming up this next weekend, we have the pull at Hallsville. I hope mother nature will hold out and let us get in another pull. Things are really wet around here now - and it wouldn't take much to throw a wrench in the plans. I'm going to be taking off work Saturday - so I will actually make it to the pull early this time. There should be a big crowd for this pull. We are inviting everyone who comes thru the gate at the Red Power Round Up in Columbia - to the pull.
Speaking of the Red Power Round Up - I am inviting all of you to the National Red Power Round Up in Columbia, MO at the Boone County Fairgrounds. It will be held from this Wednesday thru Saturday. I went over on yesterday (Tuesday) and worked for a little bit in the afternoon. There was plenty of stuff there already - you would be hard pressed to see everything in one day! It looks to be a huge show! I saw plenty of IH Pulling tractors - I hope some of them end up coming to Hallsville.
We are having a little problem with the pull at Cole Camp. The fairboard has realized that there is a MSTPA pull in Lincoln the same night - right down the road. They are worried about the crowd. So - we are working on a solution as we speak. An option we are looking at is on Sunday - July 13th. That is not in stone - so I will let everyone know as soon as I know something.
See you at Hallsville!!!!
