2/26:

It's almost time for pulling again!!!  The 2009 Season for MATPA is just around the corner!

I want to thank everyone that came to the banquet and all of those who helped put on the banquet.  I hope a good time was had by all, and congratulations to the winners of the 2008 Season.

Don't forget, the next meeting will be Saturday, March 7th at my house in Jamestown.  We will have hamburgers and hotdogs.  Rod has the hats in.  We will set a price that night, but they will be $10.00 or under.  Also, I want to take orders for T-Shirts that night.  So be prepared to order the sizes and quantity you want.  They should be around the same price range.

Sponsors - We do have a few sponsors, but please try to keep getting more.  If everyone would at least try to get one sponsor, then we would have a large points fund.

See you all on the 7th of March

2/9:

I want to thank everyone who came to the banquet and those who helped with setting up, and taking stuff down.  It seemed to be a good time had by all.

If you felt like you got shorted on the food a little - don't feel too upset.  Our caterer thought the banquet was the next weekend.  We got ahold of her about 2:30.  So she only had 3 1/2 hours to get enough together for 100 people.  She was very apologetic for the mix-up - and was very sorry.  It's kind of like having a sled break down during the middle of a pull, we just have to dig in and get things fixed and deal with what we have.  It all worked out in the end.

The schedule is finally done and our summer is planned.  Rod has the caps ordered, and we will be taking orders for the t-shirts at the March meeting.

Keep working on sponsors - we only have a few.  I know times are hard, but stress the point that you get a whole year's worth of advertising for $200.

Many of you have been asking me about my tractor and how things are going.  Well, the engine is in the tractor, and I have all the manifolds on, oil in it, and it has plenty of oil pressure when cranking it over.  So now I'm in the process of hooking up the governor and getting the water and fuel hooked up.  I'm hoping by the time we have the March meeting, I will be able to actually drive it down and put it in the basement under its own power!!!!

    See you all in March!!
