December and January Archives
1/15: 2008 is here - and the clock is counting down! Before you know it, it will be May and time for the first pull. I've been hearing quite a bit of buz about people working on their old tractors - or even building new ones. Time well tell.
Don't forget!!! This coming Saturday night (January 19th) is the Annual Awards banquet in Ashland. Check out the front page of the website for all the details. We will be conducting officer meetings that night since the meeting was cancled in December due to weather. Bring the family out and have a good ole time and visit with friends that you may have not seen in a few months. Happy Hour starts at 5:00, and the meal starts at 6:00.
Another reminder - if you are in charge of a pull in your area - then get it on the schedule for next summer and the times confirmed. We need to get the schedule done as soon as we can so that people can plan ahead for family vactions and those sorts of things.
As of today - I don't see anybody on the schedule for the March meeting. If you are interested, please bring it up at the Banquet Saturday night. As most of you have already seen - John Dye has agreed to try again for a meeting in February. It will be on the 9th. And hopefully - mother natrure will cooperate this time.
SEE YOU AT THE BANQUET!!!
12/25: It's that time of year again!!! I hope everyone is ready for Christmas. I hope this finds everyone doing well. It's hard to believe - the 2008 season is just around the corner.
I want to thank John Dye for doing all the hard work to prepare a great meal and meeting for us - but Mother Nature just wouldn't cooperate. The meeting was canceled due to the threat of severe winter weather. And that threat turned into a promise as most of you know. Things are a mess around Central Missouri. Many people were without power for several days, and many have plenty of firewood to cut up from what fell in the yards. As always, it could have been worse, but it was pretty bad. Maybe this will be the big winter storm for 07-08 and it will get it out of it's system.
Remember to contact Billy Montgomery and get your tickets for the Banquet on January 19th in Ashland. I have talked to Andrew and some of the Board Members - and we will probably do officer elections that night as well. So plan on being there. Also - that night will be when we do the awards for last year's points classes.
That last I heard - I think John Dye is going to try to have the February Meeting in Higginsville.
Merry Christmas to All!!!!
